In the midst of a vast landscape, narrow alleys and streets, surrounded by overgrown hedges, halfway between Ashford and Maidstone… whoever is searching will find the Process Gallery. A place for modern art and artists, probably perceived by many visitors as a contrast to Kent’s cultural agenda. A pity, really. Because what is celebrated as a contrast blends harmoniously into its surroundings.

The name says it all: the Process Gallery is not only a gallery, but also also an artistic place of creation.

Nick Veasey, x-ray artist, and his team have brought this place to life. Together with Guy Hollaway Architecture, an award-winning building has emerged from a former pigsty.

What looks like a smoke outlet is the womb of Nick Veasey’s work. This is an x-ray room. Pretty much everything the team can get their hands on is getting x-raxed here: plants, motorcycles, billiard tables.

It is clear who is the main actor: radiation in the form of light or x-rays. There are many highlights, but most of all, the most ballyhoo can be made around the x-rayed Balenciaga dresses from the fifties.
